MtA Music: Colloquium Musicum with Prof. Anne-Katherine Dionne
Prof. Anne-Katherine Dionne presents the Colloquium Musicum "Beyond caring leadership: Participant mattering in community music." Mattering, the subjective belief that we are valued by others and that we add value to others’ lives, is essential for the development of self-worth and purpose. Put another way: mattering gives meaning to our lives. Recognizing that our experience of mattering is shaped by our experience of others’ caring, in this presentation, Prof. Dionne explores care ethics and the construct of mattering with reference to a music-making context that is often imbued with care: community music. Admission is free and everyone is invited to attend. For information call 506-364-2374 or email music@mta.ca.
